DIRECT BUYER

Fluid-o-Tech is a medium-sized multinational group operating in the mechatronic sector, specialising in the design and manufacture of positive displacement pumps, proportional valves and fluid management systems for the industrial, Food & Beverage, automotive and medical sectors, certified IATF 16949 and ISO 13485, and a recognised leader in its field.
We are looking for a Direct Buyer who, reporting to the Group Procurement & Supply Chain Manager, will be responsible for the following activities, relating to direct purchasing:

• Develop a strategic approach for the assigned categories by involving all relevant internal stakeholders;
• Ensure the execution of daily activities and the implementation of the strategy for the assigned categories;
• Monitor the markets for the assigned categories in order to support the development and implementation of cost-saving initiatives, being responsible for their roll out;
• Continuously research and evaluate possible new suppliers that meet the organisation's standards in terms of price, quality, service and reliability of supply;
• Negotiate, finalise and independently manage contracts with suppliers;
• Support the Group Procurement & Supply Chain Manager in identifying improvement opportunities and coordinating sourcing projects;
• Ensure compliance with the assigned purchasing budget;
• Take care of cost analysis, reporting activities, monitoring and improvement of assigned KPIs;
• Act as a liaison and promote collaboration with other departments (e.g. Warehouse).

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering;
• Previous experience in the role gained in manufacturing companies and in Lean Manufacturing;
• Excellent analytical skills, structured approach in managing activities;
• Ability to read technical drawings;
• Effective negotiation skills;
• Aptitude for cross-functional work;
• Strong propensity for continuous improvement of both purchasing processes and results;
• Strong motivation to make an effective impact in the organisation;
• Fluent English.
