PROJECT ENGINEER

We are looking for a Project Engineer to join the Engineering and Research and Development Team for new products of an Italian manufacturing company with an international scope, being awarded the National Innovation Prize three times in a row thanks to its pillars: Innovation 4.0 and Quality.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will have the opportunity to personally follow the entire new product development and/or improvement phase of the current product, from concept conception, to structural and fluid-dynamic verification calculations, to construction and assembly drawings for realisation, to the progress of the project plan, to relations with customers and suppliers, including:

  • Coordinate the development and the industrialisation of the assigned product (calculations, tests, validation, design);

  • Define product specifications in collaboration with the sales team;

  • Carry out feasibility analyses and related generation of assembly and part models and layout studies;

  • Design products in compliance with directives and legal regulations, with the aim of meeting the customer's real expectations;

  • Act as technical support towards customers and suppliers;

  • Check on: construction drawings, sketches and bills of materials (both of the product and the equipment to make it);

  • Define control specifications, product testing;

  • Carry out calculations for design definition and validation using FEM, CFD methodologies or by means of spreadsheets developed in-house;

  • Analyse the design according to FMEA methodology (D-FMEA, P-FMEA);

  • Act as trait d'union with the department involved in the project (Testing, Quality, Purchasing, Production... ).

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering;

  • Previous experience of at least 3 years in applied fluid dynamics field;

  • In-depth knowledge of 3D CAD systems (knowledge of the Creo/E system will be an advantage), FEM structural analysis packages;

  • Knowledge of FMEA methodologies for defect reduction;

  • Excellent analytical skills, structured approach to managing activities;

  • Aptitude to work in a cross-functional perspective;

  • Strong propensity for continuous improvement of both processes and results;

  • Strong motivation to make an effective impact in the organisation.
